Come join us as we conduct a historical tour of local establishments — the MCR bars of Cambridge!

We know that Fresher’s week can be tiring. Friday night will be chill with board games and pizza in the MCR. 

Your first opportunity to eat in our beautiful formal hall, followed by a ‘pub quiz’ hosted by the MCR committee!

Join Jackie, our LGBTQ Officer over a cup of tea or a coffee to connect with other members of the postgraduate community who identify as LGBTQ+ and chat about what kind of activities you’d like to see run this year.

The Senior Tutor will be welcoming you and share important information with you, and you will then take your group matriculation photo – Be sure to have your gowns with you! This is followed by an optional introductory talk and college tour. Later on there will be a gathering with other Fellows from Christ’s.

This laid-back event is a great opportunity to meet other students and ask Marlo (your international officer) any questions. Maggie’s Bar will be open, and snacks will be on hand!

An introduction to our weekly welfare coffee in which we visit cafes around Cambridge and you get one free drink. This time round we’ll split into several groups and then move to the Fellow’s Garden for a small picnic (weather permitting). 

Together with a few other students, you will be assigned a buddy who is happy to answer your questions and show you around the college and Cambridge. After, your buddy group will head out to the pub to meet with some other MCR members and allow you to get to know some other fresher’s in a small group. 

New to the country? Need basics? Join us at the Porter’s Lodge to head out on a shopping trip and pick up all the essentials you might need for your room, kitchen, or just to have on hand. This is a great opportunity to learn where some of the big shops are in Cambridge, especially if you’re moving to the UK for the first time.
