The Library
Our library is open 24/7 to Christ’s College students. The majority of books are available for borrowing, and your University card acts as a library card. As well as being a good place for quiet study, the library offers computers, printers and photocopying services. You will be given usernames (the first part of your Cambridge email address – the CRSid) and passwords to access these facilities. Printing requires print credit and can be added to your account with a debit card. The beautiful old library, has restricted access as it serves as storage for valuable books. There will be opportunities throughout the year to visit.
Upper Hall
Upper Hall serves lunch and dinner every day during term, and is a sociable and informal place to eat. The opening times will be advertised here.
The Buttery
The Buttery is the official college café-cum-bar, open from 8.00 - 23.00 daily. Many students use this as a casual spot to hang out and work during the day. More information on prices and can be found on the College intranet.
Christ’s College has its own fitness suite and squash court. You’ll have to have an induction to be able to use the fitness suite, but you’ll hear more about that soon. The squash court is bookable on the college website.
Gym and Squash Court
Christ’s is lucky enough to be one of only five colleges with its own swimming pool, and ours is thought to be the oldest outdoor swimming pool in the UK, dating from the mid-17th century. Regrettably, it is unheated, but for those brave enough it offers an excellent refreshing break from work during the summer.
